INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
Fort Tejon Sate Historic Park, July 4th, 2009
On July 4th, 2009, over two dozen volunteers at Fort Tejon State Historic Park helped to
recreate an old fashioned Independence Day celebration at the old army post circa 1858.
Volunteers representing Dragoons and civilians celebrated in high style with many guests to the
park with plenty of games such as tug of war, egg toss, sack races, pie eating contest and even an
1800's baseball game.  Each state in the Union was honored with a canon shot and there was
even rumor of a Faro dealer teaching games of chance to the unsuspecting, er, I mean
interested parties.  A grand time was had by all! Click on any picture for a larger version!
